I'm Sorry but I'm Not

I'm sorry but I'm not

And now theres no one

And now there is nowhere.

Do you know anyone who cares?

And people come

And peoplle go

And life goes on.

But maybe one day this world will stop

And do you know anyone who cares?

Who is my friend?

I have none.

Who is my family?

There is no one at all.

No love only pain

You are useful? You are productivve?

Hey! That's great!!

Give me mine give me mine,

And don't give it too late.

And do you know anyone who cares?

"I am a friend to the end" they'll always say.

And the emotions are bankrupt

And then aren't there.

When you die they'll all say

"She was gracious and kind"

But all they ever did was f**k with your mind

John Irving, The Cider House Rules

I generally like John Irving's stories but The Cider House Rules I am finding a bit annoying because in 201_  I can not see the reason for writing the date that way. Other than that I am enjoying the story
